White Sox Offer Complimentary Tickets to Chicago Police and Firemen

The Chicago White Sox are honoring members of the Chicago Fire Department and Chicago Police Department for their bravery and service by offering each member two complimentary tickets to one of 14 games at U.S. Cellular Field this season.  This is the second consecutive year the team has provided tickets to police officers and the first the offer has been extended to Chicago firefighters. Last season, in recognition of police officers' service during the NATO Summit, the White Sox provided department members nearly 20,000 game tickets.

Members of the Chicago Fire and Police Departments can redeem the two tickets starting Wednesday, April 10 at the U.S. Cellular Field Ticket Office (Monday-Friday 10 a.m.-6 p.m. or Saturday-Sunday 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on non-game days).  Firefighters and officers will be required to show their department identification and badge, in order to claim the tickets.  The deadline to redeem is Thursday, May 9.

The 14 White Sox games available include:  April 20, 22 and 23; May 12 and 20; June 6 and 12; July 2 and 4; and September 9, 13, 18, 26 and 28 - game dates subject to availability.

"We cannot thank the men and women who serve in the Police and Fire Departments enough for their service and dedication to the city and its residents," said Mayor Rahm Emanuel.  "The White Sox are again showing their appreciation for our first responders by offering free tickets, and I thank them for their generosity."

"It truly is our honor to pay tribute to the extraordinary men and women of the Police and Fire departments, who proudly serve the great city of Chicago," said White Sox chairman Jerry Reinsdorf.  "This is a small gesture of gratitude from the White Sox to Chicago's everyday heroes."
