Anthony Walters Likely to Start for Bears Against Lions

If a particular set of outcomes takes place on Sunday, the Chicago Bears will qualify for the playoffs. One of those outcomes, naturally, is a win for Chicago over Detroit, and in order to do so, they'll have to overcome injuries to key players, as it is for any team by Week 17. One particularly significant injury is to S Chris Conte.

Conte pulled his hamstring in the win over Arizona in Week 16, and as of now, it's expected that he'll miss the regular season finale, according to Michael C. Wright of ESPNChicago.com. If the expectation becomes reality, then it would seem that Anthony Walters will get his first career start in that contest. Walters came in to replace Conte during the Arizona game. The Delaware product opined that it's easier to make one's first career start on a defense filled with elite teammates.

"All I have to do is be where I'm supposed to be when I'm supposed to be there," he explained. "Those guys make plays. We scored two defensive touchdowns last week. So I think they'll help relieve the pressure."
